Once you are standing in front of the car, simply tap the button Fahrzeug öffnen in the cambio app. Make sure you have a stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
Vehicles that are still fitted with a reader panel in the windscreen can, for the time being, still be unlocked using the cambio card. Please note that the cambio card is being phased out and will be completely replaced by the app in future.
You’ll find the car key in a slot in the glove compartment or in the onboard computer. You only need to enter your PIN if you unlocked the vehicle using your cambio card.
Important: Once you remove the key, you must start the vehicle within 10 minutes, otherwise your booking will be automatically cancelled.
When returning the car, please place the key back in the designated slot and lock the vehicle via the app by tapping Fahrzeug abgeben.
How to open the cambio safe
At stations with a key safe, please remove the car key from the safe. You can open the safe with the cambio app or your cambio card. A small light will indicate which key is yours.
